The official handover has happened – thank you Owen and welcome Alicja.
After 18 years of helping to make the Salehurst Halt garden something to write home about, Owen has passed on the responsibility of improving and maintaining our garden to Alicja.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Owen for all of his hard work over the past 18 years.
When you enjoy your pint of Harveys, glass of Sauvignon, cocktail or coffee on our patio and look up to admire our wonderful vine, we hope you too will join us in thanking Owen; for it is he who has loved and nurtured our magnificent grapes into the beautiful vine that we have today.
It is also thanks to Owen that we have such stunning displays of colour; those of you who joined us on the terrace last summer may recall the magnificent sweet peas that Owen planted. Step outside on a warm, summer’s evening (yes, they do sometimes happen, even here in the UK….) and you were met by the most delicious scent as well as the superb array of colours.
Sunsets on the terrace will be even more spectacular this year as we are sprucing up our outdoor furniture and looking forward to seeing our garden develop under Alicja’s capable hands.
Owen may be a hard act to follow, but with over 20 years of hands-on experience, we are confident Alicja will bring another level of wonderful to the Halt garden.
We’ve already had people come and eat outside this year, especially for our ever so busy Sunday lunches. If you want to guarantee a seat on our beautiful terrace, with it’s vista across the valley and front line view of the sunset, then please do give us a call or get in touch to book a table.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Salehurst Halt again in the very near future.
