Have you tried our latest local beer on draft at the Halt?
We have added a fine pale ale to our selection of wonderful beers on tap’ the Hastings Project. An ale that not only tastes splendid, buying a pint is also beneficial for the community. The Hasting Project is, unsurprisingly, based in Hastings. It is a Community Interest Company, ploughing all profits back into local community projects.
The Salehurst Halt’s Continued Commitment to Support Local Businesses
The Hasting’s Project is currently raising money for several local charities, as well as striving to give local people decent employment opportunities, with training and apprenticeships. You can learn more about what they do by clicking here – and you can sample their wares by popping in to see us at the Halt.
As well as supporting local breweries, vineyards and other drinks providers (our Ringden Farm apple juices are very popular), where possible, we source our food from local suppliers as well.
Providing the finest ingredients in our cooking, we buy our fish from Hastings, meat and game from 1066 Butchers in Battle and Bodium meats, fruit and vegetables from J and F Fruiterers in Rye, surplus seasonal produce from local allotments, herbs from our very own garden at the Halt, and fungi from Basil’s Fungi Farm.
If you would like to come and try some of our local ales, wines and other beverages, you are assured of a warm welcome by our friendly team members. Should you wish to sample the delights that the kitchen cook up, we do recommend booking a table.
We look forward to seeing you back at the Salehurst Halt in the very near future.
