Our regular customers love to chat with us about many things, including current affairs. Most of the stories dominating the headlines are usually doom and gloom, so it is with our upmost pleasure that we can share some really great news with you about our latest accolades at the Salehurst Halt.
To kick things off, all the wonderful feedback we get for our food, in person and from our online reviews on Trip Advisor and Google, has been rewarded by the Powers-That-Be with a 5 star Food Hygiene Rating.
The kitchen team work tirelessly to create mouthwatering recipes, but what you don’t see behind the swing door is just how hard they also work at keeping the kitchen and prep areas clean, tidy and organised. The EHO Inspector gave the Halt glowing feedback along with the highest rating of five across all categories: hygiene, structure and cleaning, and confidence in management.
Huge congratulations from all the team at the Halt for the hard graft carried out by the guys (and gals) in the kitchen – we are very privileged to have some wonderful people feeding our hungry guests.
Salehurst Halt Wins CAMRA Community Pub of the Year 2023 Award
Meanwhile, front of house – CAMRA has recognised the bar by awarding the Salehurst Halt the Community Pub of the year; and we even got a mention in the local paper. We were thrilled to be a part of this, and huge thanks go to the hard work carried out behind the scenes (mostly by Dave and Ogi… ) to ensure we serve you the best pints possible.
To qualify for CAMRA’s community pub you have to serve a cask ale (we have several as many of you are aware), and must, “encourage social interactions… and offer community activities like live music and quiz nights” amongst other things. Well we certainly tick those boxes – with a friendly face behind the bar ready to greet you day and night, Harveys on tap alongside guest ales, live music to have a little dance to, and quizzes unlike any other you have experienced in a pub before, we are justly proud to have been recognised by CAMRA for the very essence of who we are.
The Salehurst Halt is in The Good Beer Guide
In addition to the award, we are, of course, featured in the CAMRA good beer guide – the Good Beer Guide is the UK’s best selling beer and pub guide. It represents the best of the best in the brewing and hospitality industry, highlighting local pubs across the UK that serve a really good pint of real ale. We have a copy in the bar so just ask Fran or Dave, Rachel or Clare, or whoever else welcomes you in with a warm smile and they will dig it out for you if you fancy a look.
