This summer has being co-joined with the word ‘unprecedented’ – the heat, the lack of precipitation, the kitchen staff working in unbelievable temperatures…. some of us may even have mentioned we’d quite like a bit of rain…
On Wednesday 12th August we had the partial solar eclipse – enjoyed by many of our regular guests on our stunning terrace. It may not have been an ‘unprecedented’ eclipse, it didn’t go completely dark, but it did bathe our garden in a stange light; this is the photo we took on that evening.
Whether you have been a fan of the weather or not this summer, something that has thoroughly enjoyed itself is our grape vine. Not far off reaching it’s 20th ‘birthday’, this year our grapes are looking spectacular. So much so that we are regularly being asked by customers if they are real grapes.
Why not pop along and have a look for yourself. You could even try a sample of the Salehurst Reserve – a very quafable English sparkling wine made, in part, from our very own Salehurst grapes.
Whatever the occassion, be it a hot summer’s evening, a leisurely lunch, or the odd eclipse, we look forward to welcoming you back to the Halt in the very near future.
