Sizzling steak done just how you like it…

If you are a regular at the Salehurst Halt you will know that we like to mix things up a bit on our menu. We’re not like ‘other’ pubs; not comparable to your traditional pub grub menu, nor akin to a gastro pub. Here at the Halt we try and bring you dishes that are seasonal, supplied by local businesses, using fresh and local ingredients where possible.

We have recently introduced our discerning diners to Meredith Meats’ sizzling steaks. Are they good? You bet they are! And that’s not just us being biased – all who have tried them have given us great feedback.

Meredith Meats is run by Joshua Meredith – a highly skilled second-generation butcher, Joshua gained his NVQ level 2 in Meat Processing and Intermediate Food Hygiene with the highly regarded training organisation ‘M.E.A.T. Ipswich’ and is certified level 2 in Food Hygiene and Safety for Retail.  

This is a man who loves what he does – a man who wants you to enjoy what he supplies; you can only have the best meal if the food is top notch and the chefs are passionate about what they do. Our chefs at the Halt love producing wonderful dishes, and Joshua prides himself on sourcing and supplying the best produce. It’s a win-win for all of our customers.

Meredith Meats is based in Ewhurst Green, at Ockham Farm, and provides locally sourced top quality British meat, including to us here at The Halt. If you fancy sampling one of his amazing steaks, cooked just how you like it, give us a call and check we have some left (!) and to book a table.

P.S. We know not everybody loves steak, not even if it is locally sourced, top quality meat; so we always have a vegetarian option on our menu, and should you have any other specific dietary requirements, as long as we know in advance (please let us know when you book), we will do our upmost to cater for you.
